In order to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort and in order to be sure that you have as much information as possible at your fingertips, SHYM provides a tenant guidebook and a copy of tenant rental rules that are part of living at SHYM (Landlord rules). If you have questions about either document, please contact us.
- The Family Support Worker and the Live In Superintendent will have keys to your apartment and will be used in an emergency deemed under reasonable grounds such as you are in danger or your child is in danger, or if repairs need to be completed. You will be given 24 hours notice if a repair needs to be done.
- Quiet hours in the building will be between 11 pm and 8 am. During this time keep the noise level in your apartments at a speaking volume. During the daytime hours please be respectful of your neighbors and the other babies/children who live in the building who nap during the day.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the SHYM building. It is only permitted in the designated area(s) outside the building.
- Pets are not allowed in the building.
- Candles are a fire hazard and are not permitted in the building.
- Your key (FOB) opens the front door and your individual apartment. There is a $10 replacement cost for lost or misplaced keys.
- Alcohol is not permitted on SHYM property (inside or outside).
- Street drugs are not permitted on SHYM property (inside or outside).
- Weapons are not permitted on SHYM property (inside or outside).
- No violent acts shall be permitted anywhere on SHYM property.
- You are responsible for all weekly disposal of garbage and recycling in the appropriate containers at the back of the building.
- Medications and Cleaning Supplies must be stored out of your child’s reach within your apartment.
- You are required to follow the visitor policy as outlined in the SHYM Visitor Guidelines.
- Your lease at SHYM can be terminated as per the SHYM Termination Guidelines.
- You will participate in SHYM programs as per your agreement with the Family Support Worker.
- You are required to follow the child minding procedure as outlined in the SHYM Child Minding Guidelines.
- You are required to pay a damage deposit when you sign the lease which can be payable in installments.
- SHYM is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal articles in your.
- The lease is set for 6 months. A renewal process can begin after 4 months.
